Building a bigger back part 1

Part 1 of a back workout i did end of last week.

This workout involved a small amount of deadlift. I've never got on with deadlift, so to encourage me to do it more I treat it as a grip exercise. Helps me not get too hung up on the weight or repage etc..

So I did the deadlift with an overhang grip.obvs 120kg wasn't hard on back strength, but it did deffo work the grip. A good number of reps also helped get the heart and lungs working to warm me up for the rest of the workout.

So I moved on after deads onto shrugs. I really get a lot out of going heavy on these. I really can't be arsed to mess around in light weights that don't do anything for me. And the shrugs I did in this have hurt me for close to a week lol so they deffo hit the spot.

Went up to 340kg for 17 reps. Which is a pb. I normally do shrugs on a separate day to back, but with my focus now on armwrestling I have less days to work with so I thought it would combine well.

Part 2 moves onto bent over rowes and d bar rowes for thickness which I'll cover in my next post
